One of the Frenchman’s best friends came to visit us from Belgium for a weekend stopover on his way to Las Vegas. It’s hard to decide what makes the cut for two days in LA, but hands down, a favorite place to take any visitor is the Griffith Observatory. It’s beautiful, breathtaking and now even more popular after being featured in La La Land.
Not only is the observatory a sight to see, but there are great views of the Hollywood sign.
Welcome to Hollywood! What’s your dream? Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true, some don’t; but keep on dreamin’ – this is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin’. –Pretty Woman
Sidenote: Every time someone says “Hollywood” I automatically think of the above quote from Pretty Woman. Just love that movie.
On clear (aka smog-free) days, you can see views of downtown LA to the south and the ocean to the west.
Plus the art deco details get me every time. Just look at the doors – the color, the pattern, the blue-green patina on the copper base boards.
This guy cracks me up. He takes those binoculars everywhere… you just never know when you’ll need them.
I always get entranced by the Foucault Pendulum in the rotunda. I could probably spend hours watching it swing back and forth.
We’ll be back with our next LA visitor!
